Preparing the IBM IntelliStation Z Pro 6866 System

To prepare your IBM IntelliStation Z Pro 6866 system for

installation into a rack enclosure:

1. Turn off the IBM IntelliStation Z Pro 6866 system.

2. Remove the covers of the IBM IntelliStation Z Pro 6866 system. See

“Removing the cover and front bezel” in the User Guide

IntelliStation Z Pro Type 6866 Professional Workstation.

3. Remove the four feet at the bottom of the IBM IntelliStation Z Pro

6866 system.

4. Install the new covers included with the rack-mount kit using the

screws removed earlier (see step 2).

To avoid damage to internal components, use only the short slotted

screws included with the Netfinity Tower-Rack Conversion Kit.

5. Install L-bracket IBM part number 20L1419 on the left side of the

system and L-bracket IBM part number 20L1418 on the right side

of the system, using two short slotted screws per L-bracket

included with the rack-mount kit (see Figure 1).
