Symbols and Conventions

These installation instructions use the following special symbols and

conventions:

A note provides important related information, reminders, recommendations,

and strong suggestions.

A caution means that a specific action you take could cause harm to

your computer or cause you to lose data.

A warning describes an action that could cause you physical harm.

Follow the guidelines in the manual or on the unit itself when

handling electrical equipment.

Preparing the IBM IntelliStation Z Pro 6866 System

Before you begin, read the safety information in the User Guide

IntelliStation Z Pro Type 6866 Professional Workstation and the safety

information in the rack enclosure documentation. See also the

rack-mount instructions in the User Guide IntelliStation Z Pro Type 6866

Professional Workstation appendix. Rack-mount instructions are also

included with the rack-mount kit. These instructions have been

specifically tailored for Avid systems.

The Netfinity Tower-Rack Conversion Kit, IBM part number 10L7006,

is the rack-mount kit needed for the IBM IntelliStation Z Pro 6866

system.

Use safe lifting practices when lifting the computer.
